Hitler oli vegetariaani

Pihvijärjestön mainoskampanja "Hitler oli vegetariaani" on ollut jymymenestys ja se on kasvattanut pihvin myyntiä huimat 867% kolmen kuukauden aikana. Kuvat Hitleristä ja SS-joukoista syömässä porkkanoita on tehnyt paljon hallaa kasvinsyöjille. John Wayne on nyt yhtä kuin pihvi, Hitler on yhtä kuin rehut.

Kasvissyöntijärjestöt vakuuttelevat puolestaan, että Hitler ei ollut vegetariaani ja pitävät väitettä myyttinä:

"The idea that Adolph Hitler was a vegetarian is one of those enduring myths. So what are the facts? The truth is that Hitler loved meat, and especially game birds. His favorite dish was stuffed and roasted squab (baby pigeon). He also enjoyed rich cakes and pastries."

Vegetaarijärjestöt ovat itse aloittaneet shokkimainoskampanjoilla vaikuttamisen ja saavat nyt maistaa omaa lääkettään. Kuluttajajärjestöt järjestävät omia mainoskampanjoitaan PETA:a(People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) vastaan, koska PETA mm. vastustaa kaikkia eläinkokeita ihmistautien(AIDS, leukemia jne.) voittamiseksi.

Kirjasta Hitler´s table talk löytyy Hitlerin omia käsityksiä hänen kasvissyönnistään:

"I am no admirer of the poacher, particularly as I am a vegetarian."

"The only thing of which I shall be incapable is to share the sheiks' mutton with them. I'm a vegetarian, and they must spare me from their meat."

"One may regret living at a period when it's impossible to form an idea of the shape the world of the future will assume. But there's one thing I can predict to eaters of meat: the world of the future will be vegetarian."
